4 Reasons to Take a Multivitamin Everyday

These days it seems the daily value, and the percent daily value, of nutrients we should be getting, based on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s recommendation, changes. What labels state may or may not be true. But beyond that, everyone’s nutritional intake requirements are dependent on the individual. Women in their 20s need far less assistance than a man in their 80s, and every size, shape, age, and person in between.

What’s more, it’s hard to maintain a healthy diet with the proper amount of essential nutrients we need when so much of the food out there is processed or we’re taught to live a “leaner life.” A balanced diet of fruits, leafy greens, vegetables, grains, and proteins, plus all of the essential vitamins, can be hard to come by when you’re chasing a weight loss goal or, even worse, need to cut back on food costs. A fast food chain is a lot cheaper than the organic farmer’s market, but that fast food also comes with a fraction, if any at all, of the nutritional value.

While it might seem like good health comes with a hefty price tag it doesn’t have to. Men’s multivitamins and women’s multivitamins can close the nutritional gap between what you’re getting and what you need in your everyday choices.

Here are four reasons to take a women’s or men’s multivitamin every day.

1. Delivers Essential Nutrients

The biggest reason to take a multivitamin daily is that it can deliver the essential nutrients your body needs. Both a women’s and a men’s multivitamin that can be chosen for what your body needs. This becomes more apparent as certain diets can get in the way of the nutrients we need. They focus so much on weight loss and fitting into certain clothes. Yet, diets, especially fad ones like Atkins, South Beach, Keto, Paleo, etc., drain us of the necessary nutrients our bodies so desperately need. If you choose to be on one of these diets or a diet in general, a multivitamin can balance out what you might be losing in the foods you aren’t eating.

2. Slows Down the Aging Process

The older we get the harder it becomes for our bodies to do some necessary tasks. We see this a lot on the outside—the way we walk, our vision declines, the hearing begins to lessen, and our faces start to wrinkle—but on the inside, just as much is going on. Part of that is the way our body absorbs nutrients, which come with essential vitamins necessary for overall function. The most common vitamins found in multivitamins are vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin D, and vitamin E. You’ll likely also see an influx of daily percentages of minerals like zinc, magnesium, iron, iodine, and calcium. Each of these ingredients aids in slowing down how we age, and the rate at which our bodies deteriorate.

3. It Supports You as You Exercise

If you are already on a health kick and lead a healthy lifestyle, then you likely also workout on a regular basis. As you increase your the intensity and frequency of your exercises, your body is being depleted of certain nutrients it needs to sustain. Unless you also increase your vitamins and minerals as you increase your workouts, you will begin to notice a difference in how your body functions; being active takes a toll.

To make up the difference, multivitamins can provide you with what’s needed. Do some research to determine exactly what you need, based on your lifestyle, and be sure to replenish so that you can maintain a positive body function. Women’s and men’s multivitamins will help repair lean tissue in the muscle and can promote post-workout recovery.

4. You’ll Feel Better Overall

When your body is lacking essential nutrients you will feel it. You’ll be sluggish, tired, achy, and unable to perform even the most basic tasks. What’s more, your brain will even begin to notice brain fog or lack of cognitive function if you aren’t feeding your body what it might need. When you incorporate women’s and men’s multivitamins, you will notice an improvement in overall mind-body health; When you function better, your mood is bound to improve.

Conclusion

With women’s and men’s multivitamins, you don’t have to think about whether or not you’re getting enough essential nutrients that you need every day. If you can stick to a routine on what days and times to take your multivitamin, it will begin to feel like second nature to incorporate them into your healthy lifestyle.

You can take them first thing in the morning, with a meal, or right before bed every night. Whatever works best for your schedule will have you feeling more energized, happier, and less achy, and you’ll notice the difference in how you move in everyday life.
